INTOStudy Sponsors Leading High School Rugby Tournament In Kenya
INTOStudy was a proud sponsor of the 2024 Blackrock Rugby Festival in Kenya’s capital
Nairobi, the latest edition of the prestigious high school tournament which took place on 13
April.
The tournament drew teams from around Kenya, East Africa and the Middle East for an actionpacked and fun day of youth rugby. This year the high-profile tournament moved from its usual
location at St. Mary’s High School to the larger RFUEA Grounds, allowing for an even bigger
display of talent. The lineup featured over 20 boys and girls teams.
First held in 1983, the annual Blackrock Rugby Festival is an exciting showcase of young talent
and has for years been the nurturing ground for Kenya’s future rugby stars. The event embodies
the spirit of international sportsmanship, bringing together gifted young athletes from the
region and fostering teamwork, discipline and camaraderie.
The 2024 tournament was won by Rift Valley Academy 1 (RVA 1), with Dawamu School securing
the runner-up position and Strathmore 1 third place. Alliance High School won the Plate Cup
with Strathmore School II the runner-up, while Rift Valley Academy II won the Bowl Cup with St.
Mary’s School the runner-up.
Alongside the enthralling rugby action on the field, the Blackrock Rugby Festival also featured
family-friendly activities and entertainment, food and refreshments in a lively atmosphere
where there was something for everyone of all ages.
